The central theme of my artistic practice is the pursuit of possibility through resistance and struggle within imposed limitations.

My engagement with paper cutting began with the intention of drawing upon my earlier experience carving stencils for katazome,
a traditional Japanese dyeing technique.
Over time, I became captivated by the unique beauty that can emerge specifically from constraint–much like the structured elegance found in haiku or the deliberate minimalism of karesansui ( dry landscape gardens ).

While I am often aware of the restrictions inherent in this medium–particularly in contrast to the expressive freedom of painting–
I view these limitations not as obstacles, but as a framework within which to explore and create.
By remaining open to serendipity and embracing the unexpected,I occasionally encounter outcomes that far exceed my initial intentions.

The motifs I choose–such as bread and apples–are deliberately mundane.
Underlying my work is a desire to affirm the quiet presence of the everyday and, by extension, to affirm the worth of my own existence within it.

As an introverted person, I often feel that those around me don’t fully see who I am.My cut-paper works are, in part, a quiet response to that—an attempt to say,“This may be how I appear to you, but it’s not the whole of me.” “There’s something more within.”
