プロフィール1994年秋田生まれ、岩手遠野市在住、信州大学大学院修了。
暗闇に生ける煙の空間芸術「煙道」に取り組む。煙道は、暗闇に包まれ煙のたゆたう景色を鑑賞し、深い静寂に沈む体験である。香りを嗜む香体験を、煙の生き様を観賞する行為として再解釈した煙道香炉を考案制作している。煙道は新たな道体験として2023年に立ち上げ、煙を鑑賞するだけでなく所作や室礼、振舞などの一連の流れに重きを置き、総合芸術として場づくり・作品づくりを行う。蔵や町屋、寺、ギャラリーなど暗闇静寂を基調とした空間でイベントを開催している。
作品について
煙道香炉から立ち現れる煙は、生命が宿っているかのようにその姿を常に変化させていく。また羽衣が宙を舞うように、ゆったりと優雅に舞うのが特徴である。暗闇静寂の中、宙をたゆたう煙を私達はただぼんやりと眺める。暗闇は徐々に日常を覆い隠し、心の内に沈んでいくような、心身が鎮まっていく養生、瞑想のひとときに誘う。煙道を通じて私は、夜そして暗闇の本来的な美しさを探り、私達が暗闇と共にあることの意義や面白さに出会う機会を届けたいと考えている。

Born in 1994 in Akita Prefecture, currently based in Tōno, Iwate. Completed graduate studies at Shinshu University.
Endō is a spatial art form in which drifting smoke comes to life in the darkness. It offers a meditative experience where participants observe the ever-changing landscape of smoke, enveloped in silence and shadow. I reinterpret the traditional act of incense appreciation (kōdō) as an aesthetic encounter with the life of smoke itself, and design original incense burners that reflect this philosophy.
Founded in 2023 as a new form of experiential art, Endō places importance not only on the visual appreciation of smoke, but also on the gestures, room arrangement (shitsurai), and the performative presence that shape the experience. Events are held in darkness and silence spaces such as storehouses, townhouses, temples, and galleries.
About the work
The smoke rising from an Endō incense burner is ever-changing, as if it were alive. It moves gently, like a celestial robe fluttering in the air—graceful and slow. Within the stillness of darkness, we simply gaze at the floating smoke without intention. The darkness gradually conceals the noise of daily life, drawing us inward and guiding us into a meditative, restorative moment.
Through Endō, I explore the original beauty of night and darkness, and hope to share moments that invite people to rediscover the value and quiet wonder of being with the dark.
