「100均」の製品は、大量生産され使い捨てされていくジャンクなマテリアルである一方、デフレ、経済格差などといった日本の経済状況が産んだ日本社会を象徴している。また紛争にまみれ国同士の対立関係が顕著となっている現代社会において日本人の生活における「平和」の象徴でもある。
西出は「100均」製品という日本人にとっての日常的なイメージを持つオブジェクトの部分を切り抜きつなぎ合わせるコラージュ的手法を用いて、マテリアルを色、形、サイズ、質感といった要素に抽象化し、純粋なフォルムを作り上げる。本来のプロダクツとして持つ物質的存在意義を問い直し、現代日本社会に対する問いかけへと私たちを誘導していく。
マテリアルの持つ本来の意味を昇華した、詩的なエッセンスを兼ね備えた「美」を作り上げている。

While ‘100-yen’ products are junk materials that are mass-produced and disposable, they also symbolise Japanese society, which is a product of the economic situation in Japan, such as deflation and economic disparity. They also symbolise ‘peace’ in the lives of Japanese people in today's conflict-ridden society, where rivalries between countries are becoming more and more pronounced.
Nishide uses a collage technique to cut out and join together parts of objects that have an everyday image for Japanese people, such as ‘100-yen’ products, abstracting the material into elements such as colour, shape, size and texture to create a pure form. The work reexamines the material significance of the original product and leads us to question contemporary Japanese society.
The brand sublimates the original meaning of materials and creates ‘beauty’ with a poetic essence.
