プロフィール23年のグラフィックデザイナー経験と15年以上のボディワーク経験を融合させ、身体性や内なる解放をテーマとするソマティック・アートを確立。作品は「観自在」の哲学に基づき、見る人の固定された視点を解放する「共創」の体験を促します。この「観自在」を鑑賞者に体験させるため、作品を吊るした状態で自由に回せる独自の展示器具を開発。鑑賞者が作品に触れ、回すことで感じ方が変わる体験は、まさにその哲学の具現化です。
国内外で、800人規模のイベントで4分40秒で2.7m×1.8mの巨大パネルを完成させるなど、思考を排し感性のみで描く、世界に類を見ない短時間・大規模のライブペイントをおこないます。企業からの依頼実績も多数。その表現は、一見衝動的でありながら、長年のデザイン経験に裏打ちされた色彩と構成によって唯一無二の境地を築き、国際公募展でも高く評価されています。
私の作品は、既存の枠を根底から揺るがし、筆ではなく手で、全身を使って踊るように描くことで、内なる純粋な衝動を直接的に表現します。それは「アートとはなにか、表現とはなにか」という問いを投げかけ、だれもが「じぶんらしく輝く」社会を目指す新たな価値観を提示します。
Merging 23 years of graphic design experience with over 15 years in bodywork, Terashima established Somatic Art, focusing on physicality and inner liberation. His works are rooted in the philosophy of "Kanjizai," inviting viewers to collaborate in discovering new perspectives and liberating them from fixed viewpoints. To enable this "Kanjizai" experience for viewers, he developed unique display equipment that allows artworks to be freely rotated while suspended. The act of touching and rotating the artworks to experience shifts in perception is a direct embodiment of this philosophy.
Globally, he performs unique, large-scale live paintings, completing monumental 2.7m x 1.8m panels in just 4 minutes 40 seconds by creating purely from sensibility, without conscious thought. With numerous corporate commissions, his expression, though seemingly impulsive, is underpinned by years of design experience in color and composition, forming an unparalleled style recognized in international art exhibitions.
My art radically challenges existing frameworks. Using my hands and entire body, dancing as I paint rather than relying on brushes, I directly express pure inner impulse. This work prompts the question "what is art, what is expression," and presents new values aimed at fostering a society where everyone "shines authentically."
