「まいど！」「おおきに！」が言いたいという気持ち一本で京都の老舗果物店で飛び込みでアルバイトを始める。

そこからフルーツの魅力にハマり、現在は高級フルーツギフトショップでバイヤーを務める。アルバイトを含めて現在まで23年間フルーツに関わる。 フルーツは、同じ品種でも栽培する土地や生産者さん、与える肥料、天候、土壌などなど様々な影響によって、味も見た目も何もかも変わってくる。 皆さんが手に取るその一つの果実は、選ばれし精鋭で唯一無二の存在。同じように見えてもどこかに違いが必ずある。生まれるまでの歴史がいっぱい詰まった個性の塊である。 そんなフルーツの魅力を伝えたい想いでフルーツをメインモチーフに制作している。

 

空間を「埋める」「詰める」。画面に余白を作らないことを前提。

「埋める」「詰める」行為は、確かな存在を配置し続ける行為である。その行為自体が制作の起点となっている。
背景を埋め尽くすカラフルな断片（粒）は、この果物が生まれるまでの時間の層を可視化したものでもある。
季節、気候、風景、関わった人や環境の変化、虫にも出会っただろう、動物にも出会っただろう、目に見えない無数の出来事がこの果実の背後には積み重なっている。
それらの見えない背景を空間から消し去らず、痕跡として画面に留めている。
空間を埋めることで、そこに確かに存在した時間や記憶を可視化し、果実そのものの存在とともに記憶をも残そうとしている。

◎現在は、ギャラリーや個展、展示会、カフェ展示、百貨店や農家さん、フルーツショップなどからのクライアントワークなとで活動している。

Driven by a simple desire to say “Maido!” and “Ookini!” (friendly greetings in the Kansai dialect), I began working part-time at a long-established fruit shop in Kyoto.

That experience led me to fall in love with the world of fruit. Today, I work as a buyer at a luxury fruit gift shop. Including my time as a part-timer, I have been involved with fruit for 23 years.

Even within the same variety, the taste, appearance—everything—can vary greatly depending on the land, grower, fertilizer, climate, and soil.

The single piece of fruit that ends up in your hands is a carefully selected, one-of-a-kind gem. No two are exactly alike; each has its own story and individuality packed into it.

With the desire to share the allure of fruit, I create works that feature fruit as the central motif.

My creative process is based on the act of “filling” and “packing” the pictorial space—leaving no blank areas on the canvas.

To fill the space is to keep placing tangible existences on the surface. This very act becomes the starting point of my work.

The colorful fragments (dots) that fill the background serve as visualizations of the layered time it took for the fruit to come into being.

Seasons, weather, landscapes, the people involved, changes in environment, encounters with insects, perhaps even animals—countless invisible elements lie behind the fruit.

Rather than erasing those unseen stories, I preserve them as traces within the space of the work.

By densely filling the space, I aim to visualize the time and memory that surely existed there, preserving them along with the very presence of the fruit.

◎Currently, I am active in various venues including galleries, solo exhibitions, group shows, café displays, department stores, farms, and fruit shops through both independent projects and commissioned work.
