2025年より制作テーマを「Lifetime colors」として、その時々の思いや感情、光を色彩に留めることに集約して平面作品を描いています。色彩の組み合わせや色味の表現には無限の可能性があり、そこに特化することでテーマをより表現しやすくしていると考えます。私は表現として常に「リアリズムとアブストラクト」を行き来しています。現実世界である外界から感じる多彩な光を日常の感情と融合していくことは、それらを重ね合わせてフォルム化され、それは詩的な表現となってやわらかな輪郭を与えることになります。形而下での問題が形而上で昇華され、再び形而下に降りてくるようなイメージです。形のあるものが、形のないものに変換され再び形を纏う。この繰り返しの渦の中から作品になり得る宝石がこぼれ落ちればと思っています。手法としてはあまり筆を使いません。筆を使うことで画面との距離が遠くなると感じているためです。なので主にオイルパステルを使用しています。これは直接に指で描いている感覚に近く、この方が画面との身体的な関わりが持ちやすいためです。一回一回のストロークで描く時、抑揚が付けやすく感情と表現が一体化している感覚を得ています。また、絵の具をパレット状で混色するのと違い、オイルパステルは画面上で混色せざる得ないのでより直感的な制作工程になります。光の粒を定着させるようにイメージして描写することから、この方がより具合が良いのです。

Artist Statement (English Translation)

Since 2025, I have been working under the theme of “Lifetime colors,” creating two-dimensional works that capture the emotions, thoughts, and light of each moment through color. The combinations and subtle nuances of color offer infinite possibilities, and by focusing on them, I find it easier to convey my themes with clarity and depth.

In my practice, I constantly move between realism and abstraction. I merge the diverse light perceived from the external world with my everyday emotions. Through this fusion, forms emerge—poetic in nature and softly outlined. Tangible realities transform into intangible sensations, which then reappear as new forms. It is within this continuous cycle that I hope small gems—worthy of becoming artworks—will naturally surface.

I rarely use brushes. I feel that they create too much distance between myself and the surface. Instead, I primarily use oil pastels, which allow me to engage physically and directly with the work, almost as if drawing with my own fingers. Each stroke carries dynamic variations and becomes a direct extension of my emotional state.
Unlike paints mixed on a palette, oil pastels require mixing directly on the surface, resulting in a more intuitive process. I imagine myself fixing particles of light onto the surface, and this method best suits that intent.
