【掲載作品について】

1. 午前0時の傾いた視界
通俗的なモチーフに対し、陰影と彩度の強い色彩により非日常感を創出。また、角度のついた構図によって見た目の面白さを絵として表現しつつ、「傾いた視界」というタイトルにより少しの憂鬱感を感じ取れるよう意図した。

2. comic remix シリーズ
デジタルで描きプリントしたモチーフに対し、油性マーカーで漫画的表現を加えた作品群。真フラットなプリント面とマーカーによる筆跡のコントラストを感じられるよう意識した。腐りかけた果物や枯れた観葉植物など少し憂鬱さを感じさせるモチーフに対し、漫画的表現を加えること（comic remix）で、憂鬱な光景を喜劇的に描くことを意図した。

3. 甘い憂鬱
デジタルとアナログの技法を混在させた作品。アクリル絵の具を塗ったパネル上にモチーフをUVプリントしたアクリル板をマウント、その上に油絵の具による表現を加えた。絵画においてメディウムや支持体等の構成要素が鑑賞者に与える印象について思考を巡らせながら制作を行った。

【補足・その他】

・melancomicについて
melancholic（憂鬱, 哀愁, 憂い） と comic（喜劇, 滑稽, 笑い） を合わせた作家による造語。主に憂いと笑いが同居したような印象や感情を指す言葉として使用している。ポジティブさとネガティブさが含蓄されるこの不思議な感覚に人間ならでは面白味や魅力を感じ、絵画作品による表現を続けている。直近ではアパレルや4コマ漫画等でも同様な発想のもと制作を行っている。
また、作家自身も常に少しの憂鬱さを感じながら、作品制作においてはファニーな思考を繰り返す日々を送っており、自身の性質を端的に表すような言葉であるとも捉えている。

Contemporary painter and illustrator.
Based in Tokyo, I mainly produce digital and mixed-media paintings.
Currently exhibiting works in galleries and contributing illustrations, as well as producing apparel and four-panel cartoons.

【Main themes in the production of my works.】

・Exploration of charm through the imbalance of impressions.
Exploration of painting expressions that create melancomic impressions and feelings (a state in which melancholy (≒negativity) and laughter (≒positivity) exist at the same time), which is also a succinct expression of the artist's own spirituality.

・Exploration of new pictorial expression through contrasts in technique.
Exploration of new pictorial expression by combining digital/analogue, figurative/abstract, and techniques with contradictory images.

【About the works shown.】

1. A tilted view at 0:00 a.m.
The work creates a sense of the unusual by using shadows and strongly saturated colours against a common motif. The angled composition of the work expresses an interesting appearance, while the title 'tilted view' is intended to evoke a sense of melancholy.

2. comic remix series
A series of digitally drawn and printed motifs with cartoon-like expressions added using oil-based markers. It was conscious of the contrast between the flat surface of the print and the brushstrokes made with the marker when viewed up close. By adding a manga-like expression (comic remix) to the slightly depressing motifs of rotting fruit and withered houseplants, I intended to depict a depressing scene in a comedic way.

3. sweet melancholy
This work mixes digital and analogue techniques. UV-printed acrylic panels with motifs are mounted on a background painted with acrylic paints, and oil paints are added on top of this. The work was created while considering the impression that the medium, support and other components of the painting give to the viewer.
