大阪府羽曳野市在住。近隣にユネスコ世界遺産の古市古墳群があり、普段から訪ね歩いている。身の回りの自然素材を収集し、それらを材料とした制作をしている。

古墳は、歴史の中で盗掘にあったり、陣地、寺社用地、田畑、墓地、住宅用地、公園などに利用されてきた。明治以降は宮内庁により治定陵墓となった古墳は立入禁止となり、皮肉にも古墳が造られた以前の自然が再生しているところもある。

歴史に思いを馳せながら現代の古墳の姿に重ね合わせ、ジオラマティックに木の実で表現した。木の実は古墳で採取したものも含んでいる。落下した木の実はいずれ朽ちていく。その前にもう一度生命を感じてほしいという気持ちを込めて。

Lives in Habikino City, Osaka Prefecture. Nearby is the Furuichi Tumulus Group, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which I often visit.I collect natural materials around me and create works using them.

Throughout history, kofun have been stolen or used as military bases, sites for temples and shrines, fields, cemeteries, housing sites, parks, etc. Since the Meiji period, the Imperial Household Agency has prohibited entry to kofun, which have been designated as imperial mausoleums, and ironically, in some places, the nature that existed before the kofun were built has been restored.

While thinking about history, we superimposed it on the appearance of a modern-day ancient tomb and expressed it in a dioramatic manner using tree nuts. The tree nuts also include those collected from ancient tombs. The fallen nuts will eventually rot. Before that, I want you to feel life again.
